Rum (British)
Darker in colour and fuller in taste, mostly made from molasses.
Countries: Antigua, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Belize, Bermuda, Saint Kitts, the Demerara region of Guyana, and Jamaica
Brands: Caroni, Mount Gay, Appleton.

Ron (Spanish)
Produced using sugar cane juice and has a velvety smooth and sweet finish.
Countries: Cuba, Guatemala, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Venezuela
Brands: Diplomatico, Havana Club, Abuelo, Ron Zacappa

Rhum (French)
Made exclusively by using fresh, pure sugar cane juice and is more expensive than molasses based rum.
Countries: Haiti, Guadeloupe and Martinique
Brands: Clément, Rhum Bielle, Neisson
